Savings at a Glance

By participating in the BGE Building Tune-up, Energy Solutions for Business, Small Business Energy Solutions and Small Business Energy Advance programs, Harford County 4-H Camp was able to take advantage of financial incentives to complete an HVAC tune-up, upgrade to LED lighting and install an energy-efficient pool pump.

This isn’t your grandfather’s 4-H Club. Sure, agricultural activities remain among the focus areas for members of the nation’s largest youth development organization. But today’s 5- to 18-year-old 4-H members study everything from food science and photography to creative writing and robotics.

Just as the programming has evolved to meet the changing needs of young people, so has the operation of the nonprofit’s facilities. The Harford County 4-H Camp and Deer Creek Overlook in Street, Maryland, recently completed a series of upgrades that not only improved the facility’s energy efficiency and aesthetic appeal but also are helping the club save thousands annually on energy costs.

El cargo de EmPOWER Maryland financia programas que pueden ayudarle a reducir su consumo de energía y emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero, así como también le ayudan a ahorrar dinero. Desde el comienzo del programa EmPOWER Maryland en 2008, los programas han ahorrado $14,500 millones de dólares en medidas instaladas con un costo de $4100 millones de dólares. Además de los costos de los nuevos programas, este cargo incluye el pago de los costos sin cobrar que se fueron acumulando con el tiempo por los programas exigidos por el estatuto EmPOWER y autorizados por la Comisión. De acuerdo con la Ley 864 de la Cámara de Representantes, los importes sin cobrar se pagarán en su totalidad a finales de 2032.
