Incentives are based on co-funding up to 50% of the cost for the engineering studies and 50% of the cost of required commissioning studies, up to a per project cap of $20,000.

There are two types of Technical Services available:

• Focused studies: Detailed studies of one or two systems in an existing building or a new building under design that previously were identified as energy-saving opportunities, but were not thoroughly analyzed; focused studies are typically approached from a system efficiency perspective, looking at the entire system instead of just one component.
• Feasibility and project development studies: Studies focused on existing buildings in which specific savings opportunities have not been identified. Typically, these studies consist of detailed engineering analyses of one or more energy efficiency projects.

Technical Services analysis may involve, but is not limited to:

• End-of-life custom chiller replacements
• Systematic improvements to chiller systems
• Optimization of direct digital control systems
• Refrigeration systems
• Whole building analysis
• Industrializing processes

For new construction or major renovation projects, a Technical Services Provider will support your design team to do the incremental analyses involved in evaluating multiple energy efficiency options.

How It Works

For existing facilities, a BGE-approved architectural/engineering firm will visit your facility and help you either identify new energy-saving opportunities or analyze previously identified opportunities.
